Veronica Mae Shawke

Veronica "Ronnie" Shawke, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her eldest daughter.

Veronica was born in Chicago on September 18, 1938. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Daniel Shawke, and her parents, Joseph and Helen (nee Wagner) Mikrut.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her devoted daughter, Michele (Ronald) Serafine, along with Lisa (Thomas) Feddor and Steven (Anita) Shawke. She was the proud and loving Nana of Courtney Serafine (Cody Littlejohn), Emerson, Madison and Jack Feddor, Anya, Daxton and Graden Shawke. Veronica was also blessed to become the beloved great-grandmother of Lane Alan Littlejohn, who brought her endless pride and happiness.

Veronica's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and a caring Nana and great-grandmother. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures - spending time with family, tending to her garden, creating and painting ceramics, playing bingo, and sharing meals with friends and of course her dog Chloe. A faithful member of Holy Ghost Church in Wood Dale, Veronica's faith was an important part of her life and provided her with strength and comfort through the years.

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Veronica's life. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:00 am until the celebration of the Memorial Mass, 11:00 am at Holy Ghost Church, 254 N. Wood Dale Road, Wood Dale, IL 60191
