Timothy Maggio

Timothy (Tim) J. Maggio, age 79, died on May 30, 2025 after a years-long battle with dementia. He attended Proviso East High School in Maywood, IL. For over fifty years, Tim worked as a barber and small-business owner in Arlington Heights, IL.

Tim is survived by his sister, Jane; his nephew, Jason; his two sons, Michael and David; his daughter-in-law, Natalia; and his beloved granddaughter, Francesca. Tim was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, and his parents, Millie and Jim.

As a barber, Tim was known for his ability to give a great haircut and to form lasting relationships with his customers. When not at work, he was happiest enjoying time spent with his family in the outdoors. He loved to play golf or to go for bike rides with his boys. Tim would say that meeting his partner and spouse of over fifty years, Judy, was the best thing that ever happened to him. As his memory declined, he was still always overjoyed to see his granddaughter, Francesca, and he seldom forgot his walking-companion, Cocoa the chocolate lab. Tim followed the example of St. Joseph by being honest and good in his work and lovingly-devoted to his family.

A visitation (10 AM) and funeral Mass (11 AM) will take place at St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Itasca on Monday, June 9th. The burial will take place at St. Michael Cemetery in Palatine, IL immediately following the Mass.
