Rosemary Baird

Rosemary Baird (nee Hancock), 92 of Wood Dale, passed away on June 2.

Rosemary was born on March 3 to Dennis and Marie Hancock in Chicago and her next chapter began when she met Arch Baird and they were married in 1953. They built their life and raised their family in Schiller Park until Arch’s death in 2010.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother William Hancock, sister-in-law Margaret Hancock, sister-in-law Judith Hancock, and her son-in-law Kenneth Waity.

Rosemary is survived by her brother John Hancock; her five children James (Dione) Baird, Daniel (Linda) Baird, Patricia Baird, Kathleen Baird, and Karen Waity; three granddaughters Cheryl (Ryan) Nilsson, Jackie Baird, and Shannon Waity; four great granddaughters, Norah, Kendall, Hope and Rosie; and many nieces and nephews.

She was an amazing mother, grandmother and G.G. And will be missed immensely. She will be remembered with a smile every time her family plays a slot machine, makes a hot fudge sundae or watches the Cubs win.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Rosemary’s honor to your favorite charity. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 7th from 9:00 A.M. until the start of the Funeral Mass, 10:00 A.M. at Holy Ghost Parish 254 N Wood Dale Rd, Wood Dale.
