Visitation

Biography

Lawrence E. Murray III , age 59, passed away suddenly on January 23rd, 2021. Lawrence was a loving husband to Jean, cherished father of Samantha, Rachel and Ashton and devoted grandfather of Alyssa, Mason, Sophia and Noah. He also loved all three of his dogs Daisy, Foxy and Paisley and tolerated the cat, Charlie. He was born on October 23rd, 1961 in Chicago, IL to Lawrence and Alice Murray and raised in Cicero, IL. Lawrence had a passion for everything Chicago related, especially sports and pizza. He loved to spend his time at either a Blackhawks game or a White Sox game and if he wasn’t attending, he would always be watching it somewhere. He was known for his sports knowledge, his outgoing and fun loving personality, and his infectious laugh and smile. You could hear his laugh from miles away and it would immediately bring a smile to your face. One of his biggest passions was traveling the country bowling with his best friend, Arnie Goldman. That passion for bowling started at a very young age from his dad and it remained a passion even when he moved on from that profession and started a family. He made sure to spend a lot of time at the local bowling alley with all three of his kids as they grew up. He was always very family orientated and would do anything for any one of us no matter what. He loved to travel and go on vacations, especially every summer to Florida and Las Vegas. At the end of every vacation, he would end up being the most tan out of everyone, even if he spent the least amount of time in the sun. There was never a dull moment when you were around him and he made sure of that. We will always remember the family traditions and they will not be the same without him. He will be truly missed. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 3rd, 3:00 - 8:00 pm at The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 E. Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca, IL. For funeral info: 630-250-8588 or www.oaksfh.com
