Larry Bernett

Larry Bernett, born January 25, 1944, passed away on July 12, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Carole; his children Roberta (John) Zasadzinski, Pam (Mark) Kaiser, and Becky (Steven) Rizzi; and his cherished grandchildren Amy, Lindsay, Scott, Ryan, Kate, Olivia, Lucy, and Gloria. Larry and Carole dedicated many years to the IJAS science fairs, encouraging young scientists across Illinois. A lifelong HAM radio enthusiast, Larry proudly recertified later in life with a new call number. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation Friday, July 17th, 9:00 AM until time of funeral, 10:30 AM at The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 E. Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca to Holy Ghost Church. Mass 11:00 AM.
