John Rayman Binneboese, 74, passed away peacefully in his Lake Nona, Florida, home on August 16, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Born March 29, 1952, to the late Arthur and Beatrice (née Scamehorn) Binneboese, John was a longtime resident of Itasca, Illinois, before relocating to Florida in February 2026. An irreplaceable pillar of the Itasca community, John dedicated his life to serving those around him. He worked at Itasca Bank & Trust Co. for 45 years until his retirement on December 31, 2024, and was an active and faithful member of The Lutheran Church of Saint Luke, the Itasca Lions Club, and the Itasca Country Club. His warm presence, dedication, and steadfast support left an indelible mark on the community he called home.
John was the beloved husband of Julie (née Benhart) for 40 days shy of 50 years; loving father of Kimberly (Ian) McCoy, Lyndsey (Bart) Schwartz, the late Michelle, and Ashley (Greg) Zeck; and cherished grandfather of Andrew, Kailie, Lauren, and Nolan McCoy; Beckett, Brockton, and Brantley Schwartz; and Juliet, Violet, Scarlet, and Charlotte Zeck. He was the devoted brother of James (Kathy) Binneboese; dear brother-in-law of Richard (Darlene Collins) Benhart, Laurie (the late Alexander) Georgas, and Jill (Alexander) Stanulis; and a fond uncle to many.
John’s legacy of devotion to his family, faith, and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. A Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 26th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 E Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca. Family and friends will meet Thursday, August 27th at The Lutheran Church of Saint Luke, 410 S Rush St., Itasca for a Visitation at 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Interment Mount Emblem Cemetery.
