Biography

Israel “Francisco” Alvarado Gomez was born to Armando Alvarado and Maria Isabel Gomez on April 2nd, 1950 in Rancho lo do Salas, Jerez, Zacatecas MX. He grew up on a ranch and did cattle ranching work to help support his family since the early age of 8 years old. At age 21, he married Elodia Felix and started his family. Israel traveled back and forth to California and Chicago to work and help support his family back in Mexico. In 1992 his wife and children moved from Mexico to Mount Prospect, IL to live with him. After some years they permanently moved to Bensenville, IL. He was a hard worker and held many jobs before he began working at the Sheraton Hotel in Rosemont doing janitorial work for 25 years. Israel retired at age 65 and enjoyed spending time with his 25 grandchildren. His passion was working outdoors on his son’s ranch. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2021. Israel remained a strong fighter against the cancer until he peacefully passed away on December 15th, 2022 at Sherman Hospital, Elgin, IL surrounded by all his children and wife in prayer. Beloved husband of Elodia; Loving father of Gloria, Jesus (Teresa), Martin (Natalia), and Griselda (Alfredo) Pinedo; Cherished grandfather of; Sergio, Julian, Jose Armando, Fidel, Victoria Jessica, Samantha, John Paul, Angelina, Elizabeth Claire, Joseph Peter, Francisco Jesus, Natalia, Josemaria, Lucia, Fatima Rocio, Anamaria, Cecelia, Josemanuel, Gabriella Liliana, Isabella, Valeria, Valentin, Jimena, and Alfredo Jesus; Dear brother of Elias, Petra, Teresa, Epifania, Juan, Amelia, Javier, Domingo, Enrique, Maria Elena, and Arturo. Visitation on Tuesday, December 20th from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 E. Irving Park Rd (at Prospect) in Itasca. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, December 21st at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen the Protomartyr Church, 1280 Prospect Ave, Des Plaines, IL 60018.Interment following at All Saints Cemetery.
