Listen to Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished Auntie Edna Stahl (Sosnowski) on October 3, 2025. Edna was an amazing aunt, loving sister, and a true friend whose joyful spirit brightened the lives of everyone she met. Her warm heart, infectious laugh, and endless kindness touched countless lives. Born in Chicago on June 3, 1942, to Eugene and Helen Sosnowski, she dedicated her life to her family and her passions. She was an incredible teacher in the Chicago Catholic schools for over 30 years, leaving a lasting impression on every child she taught. If you were lucky enough to be in Mrs. Edna’s class, you became part of her extended family. She remained in close contact with many of her students and their families to this day. Affectionately known as “Auntie Piggy” or “the Pig Lady” for her love of pigs and her impressive collection, Edna found joy in the simple things and shared that joy freely with others. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel special, never forgetting a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion. Her kindness truly knew no bounds. We will always cherish her stories, her dressing up like Buttons the clown for parties, and her warm, loving hugs. Her memory will live on the hearts of her family and the countless friends she gathered throughout her life's journey. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Stahl, her dear sister Margaret Skalski, and her parents Eugene and Helen Sosnowski. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Bill and Bernice Sosnowski, and many nieces, nephews, and godchildren who will carry her love and laughter forward. We will always cherish the joy, laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love she gave so freely.
