Biography

Diane Geraldine Grey (nee Abramski) passed away at Cedar Creek Memory Care in Edmonds, WA. Formerly of Illinois. Beloved wife of the late Robert Grey; Loving stepmother of Jeanette Williamson and Darlene Oliver; Cherished sister of Stanley F. (Nancy) Abramski, MD and Kim (Rick) Morris-Podsiadlo; Dear aunt of David Jon Abramski, Jennifer (Jupiter) Barton and Amy (Owen) Hay and great-aunt of Jackson Barton, Annika Barton, Mila Kai Barton, Roan Hay and Ripley Hay; Devoted daughter of the late Stanley Bernard Abramski and Dorothy Abramski Morris (nee Szafranski). She was a very special friend to the Sisters of St. Joseph Third Order of St. Francis in Bartlett, IL. Graduate of DePaul University, Chicago, IL. MA in Education. Former elementary education teacher at Rhodes Elementary School in River Grove, IL. Diane was known for her humor, positive energy, loving kindness and zeal for dancing. She became known for her repeated Polish phrases: wszystko jest dobrze (everything is good) and matka tutay (mother here) which nearly every staff member at Cedar Creek was able to repeat in response. She was loved by one and all at Cedar Creek and will be dearly missed. ‘Mother here’ takes on a new meaning as Diane joins her mother, Dorothy at Mount Emblem Cemetery. Visitation Friday, May 28th, 9:00 am until time of Funeral Service, 11:30 am at The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 E. Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca. Interment Mount Emblem Cemetery.
