Biography

Deacon Dennis L. Colgan, suddenly; Retired Associate Director of the Office for the Permanent Diaconate; Diaconate class of 1985. Loving husband of Margaret “Marge” nee Gilhooly; Devoted father of Kevin (the late Lisa), Daniel (Kathleen) and Megan (Jeff) Black; Loving grandfather of Clare, Caroline, Brendan, Patrick, Aidan, and Nora; Dear brother of Laurene (the late Donnell) Strum, Thomas (Joanne) and Janet (the late Robert) Lapen; Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday 3:00 – 8:00 pm and Friday 9:00 am until the Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am at Saint Celestine Church 3020 N. 76th Court, Elmwood Park. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. His legacy will be that he is remembered as a good guy. In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Celestine School or Mercy Home for Boys and Girls would be appreciated. Arrangements were entrusted to The Oaks Funeral Home.
