David F. Waldenmeyer, 68, a lifetime resident of Bensenville, was a beloved husband to Anna Marie (née Tanzillo) and a loving father to Nick (Nikki). He cherished his role as a grandfather to his three beautiful granddaughters, Layla, Alina, and Lucy. Dave also leaves behind his siblings: Steve (Kris), Ruth Conniff, Mary Lake, Jane, and Deanna Schultz, along with his late brother, John. He was a dear son of the late Earl and Elizabeth, a fond brother-in-law to Diane Votaw, and a respected son-in-law to Lou Tanzillo.
For 43 years, Dave owned Body Masters Inc., Auto Body Repair in Bensenville, where his superior expertise earned him unmatched respect and admiration within the community. Known for his incredible work ethic, dedication, and tenacity, he thrived on those late-night conversations and friendships with fellow night owls, sharing stories and laughter. A true perfectionist, he took immense pride in his artistry, ensuring that every vehicle leaving his shop was a testament to his skill.
He worked tirelessly to balance his demanding schedule with moments of love and laughter, leaving a lasting mark on all who knew him. His legacy will endure through his cherished wife, son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters, who continue to excel in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities. Dave was exceptionally proud of his son, Nick, a Detective Sergeant, and delighted in watching his granddaughters thrive. His quick-witted stories and playful jokes will undoubtedly live on for generations to come.
As we bid farewell to Dave, we can imagine him in heaven, surrounded by endless opportunities to work on celestial cars, fine-tuning their fenders and polishing their halos. With his craftsmanship and passion, he’s surely making heaven a little more beautiful, one heavenly vehicle at a time.
