Carol E. Chapulis

Carol Elaine (nee Prokup) Chapulis, age 76, of Wood Dale, Illinois returned to the Lord on July 10, 2025 following a long illness. Carol was the beloved daughter of the late Alice nee Frigo and Charles Prokup. Carol is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Ronald Chapulis, her brother Norman Prokup and his wife Beverly, her nephews Norman Prokup, Kevin Prokup, Rob Saska, and niece Julie Pieters and numerous grand nephews and nieces, her brother-in-law Gary Chapulis and his son Zeke, and many Frigo cousins including Diane, Donna, Jules(Butch), Cathy, Janet, John, Judy, John and Jodi .

Carol spent her childhood in the Pullman/ Roseland area of Chicago. She attended Holy Rosary (Irish) Catholic School and Mother of Sorrows High School , Blue Island , IL. Carol attended University of Illinois Chicago where she earned her teaching degree and went on to spend decades as a teacher and reading specialist. As Carol ended her teaching career she was teaching in the Bensenville , IL school district. Carol was a very dedicated teacher and loved fostering knowledge in future generations. Carol loved her pet daschunds and took pride in her extensive doll collection.

Visitation will be at The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 E. Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca, IL on Thursday, July 17,2025 , 3:00-8:00 PM. Family and friends will meet at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 254 N. Wood Dale Rd., Wood Dale, Il on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd., Elwood, IL. On Friday, July 18, 2025 12:00 PM
