Anna Mae Beeter (nee Niland) passed away peacefully at her home on the evening of April 24, 2026. She was surrounded by the love of her husband, Robert, her children, grandchildren, and her beloved dog Paddy.
Anna Mae was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 17th, 1940, the youngest of five children to Michael and Margaret (nee Kelly). She met the love of her life, Robert, as a teenager and they were married on November 8th, 1958. Together they shared a deep and enduring bond that defined a true partnership. In 2018, they renewed their vows in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary, and in 2025 they marked their 67th year of marriage. Even a lifetime together was not nearly enough.
Together Anna and Robert built a large and loving family, raising 12 children; Mary (Johnny) Smith, Donna (Robert) Morris, Robert (Tamara), Kathy (Brian) Arnold, Edward (Kelly), Margaret Swensen, John (Sara), Jean (the late Lawrence) Murray, Joan, Michael (Paige), Anna (Michael) Weber, and the late Joseph. Their legacy also includes 33 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, all of whom she was enormously proud. She is also survived by her dearly loved sisters-in-law, Margaret Trinchitella and Maureen Beeter, as well as countless nieces and nephews.
Anna Mae was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Mary, John “Jack” Niland, Francis “Frank” Niland, and Eileen (Phil) Suchowski; her brothers-in-law James Trinchitella, and George “Buddy” Beeter; her sister-in-law Rosella Niland, and her dear friend Jane (Donald) Rohdenburg.
Anna loved being surrounded by her family. She was the center of every party, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. She knew the birthdays of everyone in her family and sent birthday cards every year, which was no small feat. She was loving, hilarious, a terrible speller, a lover of gift cards and candy, and the unrivaled queen of Irish goodbyes.
She was rich in life, and her absence is and will continue to be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
Anna and Robert were longtime parishioners of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Glendale Heights. Visitation Wednesday, April 29th from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at The Oaks Funeral Home 1201 E Irving Park Rd (at Prospect), Itasca. Friends and family will meet for the Funeral Mass on Thursday, April 30th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Church 1555 Glen Ellyn Rd, Glendale Heights. Interment following at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
